Nomad Solid Hardwood Platform Bed Frame - Queen Size $149.00 The Nomad is made of smooth, clean, unfinished poplar hardwood, not pine. Many of the pine frames on the market have a rough splintery feel. Pine averages 18% moisture content, our hardwood is kiln dried to 8%, which means it's far less likely to split or warp. This pure untreated wood is preferred by many consumers seeking a natural, hypo-allergenic alternative to todays chemical laden products. ... |

Question about ski size safety?
Hello. I bought brand new skis and bindings on eBay for a pretty good deal and I took them today to the ski shop to get the bindings mounted to the skis. Aside from way over paying ($90 to mount them but I had no choice), the person there basically told me that I will practically kill myself with these skis if I use them. Normally when I go to a mountain, they give me skis of about 162 length and sometimes I've even skied on much shorter so when I bought them online I bought size 162 skis, they are Atomic Nomad Sativas. I'm about 5'11-6'0 and weight about 250 lbs.
The way the sales person said it was like you're going to kill your self on the mountain as if the ski is going to break. I understand if these skis are not good for me to "grow" into but will they be good for a few years and let me just go on mainly greens and maybe some easier blues. (I told them my ski level type is intermediate).
Thanks for any advice.
At 250 lbs, a 162cm ski might be a little short, but there are definitely no safety issues. There is pretty much no way you could break the ski unless you are skiing really aggressively, which is hard to do on greens or blues. That salesperson is an idiot.
