Choosing beds for your kids
Most of the times, kid's beds are bought just by judging them on the cuteness factor or by the cartoon that is drawn on it. However, if cuteness would be the sole deciding factor, be advised that such beds may not be durable and might not withstand the average active toddler. Over time, many parents have ended up complaining that these cheap beds are not sturdy enough to support the weight of their toddler.
However, before you begin looking for the actual bed you must choose a good mattress. A good mattress is of utmost importance for your child simply because their bodies need support. If your child receives proper support from the mattress their body will grow better and will also have fewer problems with aches and pains from a mattress that is not up to par.
For buying kids Beds, there are various factors that you need to consider like sturdiness and Bed rails for safety.
Kids tend to jump and bounce on their bed for fun. Now, unless the bed is sturdy enough to withstand such an onslaught, it may break and also hurt your child. Hence, make sure the bed that you are going to buy can withstand that kind of pressure. Similarly, all toddler beds come with bed rails but the difference lies in the width and height of the rails. You need to be aware that some bed rails can be low in height and if you have a thick crib mattress, the top of the mattress may come up to about the same height or just slightly less than the top of the rails. In such cases, your kid might just roll over, fall and hurt himself. Hence, when you choose the bed, consider the width and height of the bed rails and also how they are attached to the bed. Because, if they easily break or become detached from the bed, it will be a disaster.
With the type of bed in mind, it's time to think about the child’s room, how much space is available, and what the kid wants. If your child has a very small room and only a single bed will fit then you just look at single beds or bunk beds in case their friends come over for a sleepover. The range of options available in bunk and loft beds is amazing. For kids whose age is less than 6 years, there are also Junior loft beds available. Twin over twin or twin over full arrangements are also a great viable option.
Lastly, make sure your child is happy with the bed that will be purchased as well. No child wants a bed they don’t care for.
