Why do dogs dig at their bedding, wreck it, then look at you as if it's your fault they can't get comfortable

Why don't they just leave it all neat and tidy, and much more comfy to sleep on?

I think its called nesting. If they were out in the wild they would arrange a bed for themselves in this way
